The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off on March 22, and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are gearing up for a strong campaign in 2025. Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, LSG squad 2025 will aim for their maiden IPL title after a consistent run in the last three seasons. Captained by KL Rahul in their first three years (2022-2024), LSG reached the playoffs in the first two seasons but fell short of the final. The 2024 season, however, saw a dip in performance, with LSG finishing seventh on the points table.
In a bold move, LSG secured Rishabh Pant for a hefty Rs 27 crore at the mega auction, making him the most expensive buy. Pant, who has spent his entire IPL career with Delhi Capitals, is determined to give his “200 percent” to bring home the title. The team will open their campaign with an away match against DC on March 24.
LSG made strategic signings during the auction, spending Rs 68.89 crore to sign 19 players. The squad includes South African duo Aiden Markram and David Miller, and Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. With the addition of pace spearhead Akash Deep and the retention of key players like Nicholas Pooran and Ravi Bishnoi, LSG is set to challenge for the title in 2025.

Final words on LSG Squad 2025
LSG Squad 2025 boast a formidable batting lineup with aggressive players like Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, and David Miller in the top and middle order. Their firepower with the bat is a major strength. However, their spin department appears to be a weak link. Ravi Bishnoi, the lead spinner, had an underwhelming last season, taking only 10 wickets in 14 matches while conceding runs at an economy of 8.77.
LSG’s pace attack, on the other hand, looks strong with Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan. Mayank has been a rising sensation, while Avesh and Mohsin add depth to the attack. However, all three are currently recovering from injuries at the National Cricket Academy and are awaiting clearance from BCCI’s medical team. Mayank’s history of injuries could be a concern for the team moving forward.
Despite their batting depth, Ayush Badoni still has a key role to play as a finisher and must focus on improving his consistency. LSG also made a big-money move to sign Rishabh Pant, and the star player will be under pressure to justify his record-breaking price tag in the tournament.
