A strong bowling performance from Bengaluru bowlers helped them restrict the Knight Riders to 174/8 at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Krunal Pandya took 3 wickets for 29 runs, and Josh Hazlewood also made an impact with two key wickets.
KKR started well with captain Ajinkya Rahane, who smashed a quick fifty off 25 balls. He teamed up with Sunil Narine for a century partnership. But RCB’s bowlers fought back in the middle overs, especially with their spinners bowlers, gaining control of the game.
KKR, the defending champions, came into the match after a strong finish to last season. RCB, on the other hand, had a poor start but managed to reach the playoffs. Both teams made big changes to their squads during the mega auction.
Most expensive player for KKR:
One key player to watch for KKR is Venkatesh Iyer. His price in the auction went up unexpectedly. He has delivered match-winning performances before, but now every game will be under more scrutiny.
For RCB, all eyes are on their English players. Despite having star players like Virat Kohli, the English core has been struggling in recent matches. If RCB wants to succeed, they need their English players to perform at their best.
