RCB vs KKR scorecard: How Royal Challengers Bengaluru sealed their victory

Rcb vs KKR Scorecard

Rcb vs KKR Scorecard: The 18th edition of the cash-rich IPL 2025 started with a bang. With Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. RCB thumped KKR by 7 wickets at the Eden Gardens in the IPL season opener on Saturday with fifties from Virat Kohli and Phil Salt lighting up a flawless chase. Skipper Rajat Patidar also chipped in with a brisk knock before Liam Livingstone sealed the chase with a couple of quick hits.

Further, check the full Rcb vs KKR Scorecard.

IPL 2025, RCB vs KKR Score live:

A strong bowling performance from Bengaluru bowlers helped them restrict the Knight Riders to 174/8 at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Krunal Pandya took 3 wickets for 29 runs, and Josh Hazlewood also made an impact with two key wickets.

KKR started well with captain Ajinkya Rahane, who smashed a quick fifty off 25 balls. He teamed up with Sunil Narine for a century partnership. But RCB’s bowlers fought back in the middle overs, especially with their spinners bowlers, gaining control of the game.

KKR, the defending champions, came into the match after a strong finish to last season. RCB, on the other hand, had a poor start but managed to reach the playoffs. Both teams made big changes to their squads during the mega auction.

Most expensive player for KKR:

One key player to watch for KKR is Venkatesh Iyer. His price in the auction went up unexpectedly. He has delivered match-winning performances before, but now every game will be under more scrutiny.

For RCB, all eyes are on their English players. Despite having star players like Virat Kohli, the English core has been struggling in recent matches. If RCB wants to succeed, they need their English players to perform at their best.

RCB register a 7-wicket win at the Eden Gardens and break the KKR ‘jinx’ to make the first move this season. So the Rajat Patidar era at RCB begins with a bang. Not so much the Ajinkya Rahane one at KKR.
